God is faithful

Today my sweet husband had the honor of getting to preach at our church...our Pastor was out and asked that Jay would fill in...and let me just tell you that my man was awesome!!! He preached on John 3:16 and it was powerful how God brought such life and freshness through a "familiar" passage of scripture...He is such a wonderful, humble, loving and gracious man...who loves God and loves his family...I am a living testimony of those qualities in his life because I get to benefit from them, they are never so sweet to me as when I have not been the sweetest or kinda rough around the edges...and then those qualities about him minister to me, especially when I totally deserve something else...

On another side note I added a pictue of one of his/our hero's of the faith...our devotional this morning was on hero's and one of Jay and my hero's is Pastor Nazir Massih...he is a man of God who started a church in his home in Northern India of 3 and now it has grown to over 300 churches and over 70,000 members...just amazing all that God has done through this man...he is a humble man who Jay and I pray we would have faith like on this earth...He loves God and desires that all would come to know Jesus...that is what Jay preached on today and it was powerful...that all may come to know Jesus...that Jesus is for the world...as I listened to Jay preach today, what I thought in my heart is Lord please teach us to teach Jayk about Jesus being for everyone, teach us to teach him to love his elders is another thought that ran through my mind as I sat between my two sweet grandma's...Lord teach us to love and nurture our little guy...I pray that whoever reads this blog would be encouraged that God's love is amazing and for you...may we have faith in Christ...and if we have kids may we teach them about faith in Christ...but I heard a quote one time that we can't really give what we haven't truly recieved...may we recieve the love of Christ and give the love of Christ, may we take hold of faith in Christ and walk in that faith...our greatest example to our husband, kids and a hurting world is us walking and loving God...I pray this may be so in our lives...blessings....

Nanny Merlene

My fun and sweet Nanny came over the other day...She is my Nanny that when I was growing up would play basketball with me and play softball with me...She is pretty much where I got my athletic ability...She coached the first girls city championship team...she gave me the team picture and a charm of a softball glove that was hers that I will never forget...She has always been someone that I have loved and respected so much...I have learned so much from her...one of her sayings that I treasure and share with others is what her friend told her when my grandpa passed away, her friend told her "don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened"...When I think about that saying it makes me think of how blessed I am...may I always "smile because it happened"...Jesus happened in my life, Jerrell happened in my life, Jayk happened in my life, My parents, sister, friends, all happened in my life...May that bring a smile to my face...So thank you Nanny for your love and support all these years...loving on me and Jaybird and now on little Jaykers...I love you dearly....
